🌞 Summer Home Gardening Inspiration & Healthy Eats 🌿

ree

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy fresh fruits and veggies. Local farmers are bringing their best to country stores, roadside stands, and farmers' markets.

Some favorites you’ll see this season? Juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, sweet peas, peppers, corn, berries, plums, peaches, cantaloupe, and watermelon. The best part? Harvest time is just around the corner. Don’t forget to gather what you need to make preserves that’ll keep your pantry full through winter!

🚜 Trading Day

As the rooster crows, folks were already out in the fields picking rows. Grandpa was feeding chickens and pigs or riding the tractor through rows of crops.

Kids would rise early too, ready to fill baskets with cucumbers, tomatoes, and potatoes. Come Friday, it was time to head into town and trade those hard-earned bundles from long, hot summer days.

🌾 Sweet Memories

Farming may not be as common now, but the memories are still strong. Our ancestors once dreamed of the day they could work their land, free and proud. May our younger generations find joy in the soil and carry on that rich legacy. We hope this will be a summer garden inspiration
